Can I adapt BSP to NPT?
Yes, adapters exist, but each adapter adds another joint and potential leak point. When possible, keep a single standard throughout your system.
Where should I place a thermal relief valve?
Follow the product instructions. Thermal relief valves are commonly installed near the pump outlet or on the unloader to help protect the pump during extended bypass.
Should I choose brass or stainless fittings?
Brass is versatile and economical; stainless better resists corrosion and wear. Choose based on water quality, detergents, and duty cycle ratings.
How do I tell M22ā14 from M22ā15?
Measure the inner sealing seat of the female fitting or check your manual. A 14 mm seat (M22ā14) is not the same as a 15 mm seat (M22ā15), and mixing them will leak.
What quickāconnect size do pressure washer nozzles use?
Most spray tips use 1/4″ quickāconnect plugs that snap into a 1/4″ coupler at the wand. Verify your equipment before ordering.
Do I need PTFE tape on M22 connections?
No. M22 joints seal on an internal Oāring. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape only where the manufacturer specifies it for tapered threads.
Are NPT and BSP fittings interchangeable?
No. They use different thread forms and sealing approaches. Mixing them can damage threads and cause leaks. Always match the standard on both sides or use a purposeābuilt adapter.
