Gauges & Meters FAQ's

Use stainless when corrosion resistance or exposure to harsh chemicals is a priority. Brass is common for water and general cleaning solutions.
Add a snubber or pulsation dampener and verify rigid mounting. A liquid-filled gauge also helps reduce pointer flutter in pulsating systems.
Place it where you need to verify system pressure—commonly near the pump outlet, on a manifold port, or in a test tee/hose. Ensure the gauge is visible and protected from impact.
Many applications use 1/4 NPT or 1/2 NPT connections. Always verify thread size and gender on your machine or adapter before ordering.
Select a range that keeps your normal operating pressure near the middle of the dial. This improves readability and helps the gauge handle everyday cycling.
Liquid-filled gauges contain a damping fluid that helps control pointer flutter in high-vibration or pulsating systems. Dry gauges are economical and work well in stable locations or for occasional testing.
