Winterizing Pressure Washers: 3 Essential Steps to Protect Your Equipment

[00:00:02]
Hey there, Mike Hinderliter here, the Dean of Power Wash at PowerWash.com and Power Wash Academy.
Today, I'm going to talk to you about three different things: winterizing, preventive maintenance, and supply chain issues—and why you need to place your orders now to get ahead of the curve.

The winterizing video you can catch at the end—I'll tell you how to watch that. But we're going to talk about using antifreeze, a Schrader valve, or heating the space where you keep your machine.
All three of those are great ways to winterize and protect your machine with the cold weather that's fixing to hit us all here.

Now I want to talk to you about a maintenance video we're putting together, especially for you guys in the residential industry who store your machines during cold weather and bring them out later.

Things you need to check before putting your machine back into service:

  • Check your water supply

  • Change oil in the pump

  • Inspect the pressure hose for cracks

  • Ensure all fittings are tight and leak-free

By performing preventative maintenance, you’ll avoid unexpected issues when spring arrives and ensure your machine runs smoothly.

The third thing we need to talk about is supply chain issues. This has been a hot topic, and it’s affecting pressure washer parts, antifreeze availability, and other essential supplies.

Here’s what you need to do to avoid delays:

  • Order your winterizing supplies NOW before stock runs low.

  • Check with suppliers regularly for restocking updates.

  • Consider buying in bulk if possible.

If you wait too long, you could be stuck waiting for essential equipment when you need it most. So don’t delay—get your supplies ready today!

To wrap it up, the three key things you should focus on before winter sets in:
1️⃣ Winterizing your pressure washer – Antifreeze, Schrader valve, or heated storage.
2️⃣ Preventative maintenance – Checking water supply, oil changes, and fittings.
3️⃣ Ordering supplies early – Avoid delays caused by supply chain issues.
